2015.
This year was eventful, and when I say eventful, I mean this in every way possible. I was able to see new things, meet new people, and experience a whole lot. All in all, this year had many many downs, but I was able to pick myself up, have fun, and enjoy my surroundings. Although this year is wrapping up, there are so many things I have learned that I will take with me.

January.
Started off the new year pretty rough but I was able to make new friends at a retreat in Big Bear with the Pilipino Transfer organization.

February-March.
Heartache and heartbreak. Love was not in the air. This was definitely a month of reflection of who and what I wanted in my life... But on the brighter side, these months I spent a lot of time in Disneyland with my annual pass. The highlight was when my sisters finally came to visit me here in LA!

April.
Coachella! Coachella was breath of satisfying air. Being surrounded by so many free-spirited people and music was perfect. It was a reminder to enjoy the things I love in life, music and good company.

May.
After 4 months of practicing, I was able to perform again in our annual Pilipino Culture Night. This year I was in the Moro suite and also played a role as a Tita in our script. My favorite part was definitely bonding with new and old friends.

June.
My birthday month! This month was crazy. From becoming elected as the upcoming Samahang Pilipino President, to my mentor graduating, ending my 3rd year at UCLA, my 21st birthday in Vegas, and to heading to New York for my travel study program. This was a month of chaos but also fun chaos. My favorite memory was finally turning 21, and going with my friends and sisters to Vegas and seeing Alesso perform.

July.
New York. You can read my other blogs on my New York experience, but this was hands down my favorite memories this year. I'm so thankful for this trip. I was able to learn about the culture, spend days in museums and coffee shops, meet new people and celebrities, and so much more. I was finally able to travel and learn more about myself in so many ways.

August.
Miami! The Miami trip with my sisters was all good vibes. I got a little ratchet, but what happens in Miami, stays in Miami. LOL

September.
Started my 4th year at UCLA. This was definitely a struggle. So much stress with juggling responsibilities, dealing with my personal life, and taking care of myself. I learned the importance of balance.

October.
This month was one of my most difficult. With my family preparing for my sister's wedding, and me stressing over my life in LA, for once I felt so guilty for missing out on moments at home.
But my sister finally got married! As stressful as it was when I finally got there, it was beautiful and I cried so much because of how happy I was for her.

November.
Culture and family. One of the highlights was attending the Students of Color Conference where I was able to learn so much about relevant issues within our history/culture between other people of color. This month was also the Justice for Filipino Veteran's march. I was able to learn about my own culture/history. I was also able to come home for Thanksgiving and finally spend time with my family.

December.
Happiness. This holiday season was definitely tough for my family and close loved ones, but at the end of the day, I felt pure happiness with being surrounded with the people that I love, (including Kehlani at her concert!).

As I wrap this up, 2015 has been good to me. Through everything that has happened, I can only be optimistic for the new year. I think it's important to anticipate everything that may be thrown at me. But with strength, perseverance, and optimism, I know can get through whatever that may be.

My biggest take away of this year is to remember what is important to you and staying true to yourself.

2016, I'm ready for the adventures and I anticipate whatever you have in store for me.
