Valentines Day is not only about spending the day with your bae, hubby, wifey, loml's, but it's about spending the day with the people you love. So this Valentine's Day I was grateful enough to have spent it with the one's a truly love and care about- my sisters (including my cousin) and my brother-in-law.
Following the chill vibes, we spent the day roaming around Downtown LA. First, I took them to the Grand Central Market and hit up Tacos Tumbras a Tomas (tip: 1 taco is equivalent to like 3 tacos, so order strategically). After our bellies were full, we went to visit the MOCA (Museum of Contemporary Art). Across the street is the Walt Disney Concert Hall, so we stopped by there as well. Then we ended our day in DTLA at Perch, drinking mimosas on the rooftop.
Valentines Day can be bittersweet - especially when you're single. I can't deny that seeing all those couples on social media, proving their love to the world, made me feel a tad jealous that I don't have a significant other. I can't even deny that it reminded me of my past relationships that lasted through vday's- they were nice-- being surprised with flowers, chocolates, and kisses-- they were nice.
But I'm glad I was able to spend my Valentine's Day with family- people who's love is shown every day and never-ending- not just one day of the year. These are the people that, no matter how much you fuck up, they will be there for you to bring you back up, and no matter how much time has passed or miles apart, everything will remain the same.
Overall it was a heart-warming weekend. When we weren't adventuring Downtown LA, we were eating our faces off, arguing about small things, watching my sister's wedding video, and just picking on each other.
PS. If y'all every even read this post: thank you for coming all the way down and sitting in traffic just to hang out with your little sis.
